The universe, in which our earth is an insignificant fraction, consists of uncountable number of stars, galaxies, nebulae and other celestial bodies. The universe can be said to be the sum total of potentially knowledgeable objects. The science dealing with the nature and origin of the universe is known as cosmology.
Origin of solar system
Continuous creation theory- It postulates the nature of universe is uniform and unchanged. It has no beginning and no end. The new galaxies are continuously formed which replaces the older one.

Pulsating or Oscillating Theory- It postulates the universe expand and contract alternatively between periods running into tens to millions of years. It is assumed that 12 billion years ago a great explosion occurred which resulted in the expansion of the universe ever since which will go on expanding 29 billion years ago.

Anti-Universe Theory- It postulates the process, phenomena and events happening in the universe must have their counterparts in the reverse manner in another universe which is known as anti-universe. This theory also assumes that the fundamental of universe is also found in the cosmos.
